We have a mission
The story of 3DStep began in 2012. Messages began to spread around the world about the maturation of 3D printing of metals for industrial use. The message was also heard in Tampere business region in Finland.
Innovation company Ideascout (later the parent company of 3DStep) began to consolidate knowledge on the subject and pass it on to industry players. Ideascout conducted the first seminar on 3D printing of metals in Tampere in the autumn of 2012. Around the topic, interest grew and more and more companies got involved to find out what benefits the method could provide.
3DStep Oy was founded in April 2016. The company took two significant actions. The first metal printing production equipment SLM 280 HL Twin was acquired, which got its home in the company's production facilities in Ylöjärvi. In the autumn, the first Nordic metal printing conference was held at Tampere Hall. More than 300 companies from Europe took part in the event.
In autumn 2017, operations were expanded to 3D printing of plastics. HP Multi Jet Fusion hardware, which is also capable of cost-effective serial production, was selected as the equipment.
Today, 3DStep serves Finnish and European industries with innovative 3D printing services in production, training and design. The company's special strengths are series production and delivery reliability. The team has already grown to seven professionals. 3DStep is strongly networked with industry players, and promotes the development of common operating environments, e.g. in the form of a Finnish 3D strategy.
3DStep is a founding member of FAME (Finnish Additive Manufacturing Ecosystem).
